my friend Jennifer. She is one of the most extraordinary women I know. She is a mother, a caretaker, a school teacher and a great friend. We met when we both worked at Chancellor Elementary School in Alief ISD. Her triplets were just months old and Emmeline was almost 2. I wondered about the girl who had triplets...why the heck is she working was my number one question. Then I found out she was single....shut up!!
We eventually became good friends at school and outside of school (bar hopping was our release). She had her kids down by 7 and it was off to Richmond Avenue we would go!!
Over the years life has taken us down different paths. I left the education field and she went on to teach middle school. We have always maintained our friendship...talking when working mothers could find the time, seeing each other only occasionally.
Jennifer has since added to her brood....twins! My first reaction was that she had officially lost her mind, but if you know Jennifer, you know that she has a huge abundance of love in her heart!
When I feel so tired at the end of the day or feel that i just cannot do anymore, I think of Jennifer. How does she get up everyday, how does she stay so upbeat, how does she manage? I have one new baby and she has triplets and twins and still managed to get a Christmas letter sent out his year...I barely managed a half-hearted Merry Christmas by email.
This is my "standing ovation" to you, Jenn! You are one of my heroes and I admire you for your resilience. You are a great mother and an even better friend. Thank you for adding to MY life. You are awesome!!

I would have lost my mind the moment I had found out I was having triplets, so rock on Jennifer!
Thanks dear dear friend. It has been so good to have someone who just "gets" a lot of my venting and issues. I do treasure our friendship and wish that we could spend more time together, but TOTALLY understand why it just doesn't seem to come together! We do need to work on that!!!
